Premier Group was established in 1992 with the founding of Premier Sheet Metal, specialising in sheet metal work. Since then we have grown to become the market leader in the bespoke manufacturing of low series production panels, assemblies and prototypes spanning the international automotive, aeronautical, rail and defence industries.
We now employ over 80 personnel developing a business that offers a full turnkey operation to the Automotive, Rail, Aerospace and Military sectors, with a client base ranging from Morgan Motor Company, Bentley Motors, Jaguar Land Rover & The Ford Motor Company to Alstom, GKN, and Bombardier.
As a customer, you will receive our full ‘turn key’ manufacturing capability – cutting-edge design, development, prototyping, manufacturing and logistics support, enabling you to benefit from the very latest in CAD design, CAE virtual development and CAM manufacturing, culminating in significantly reduced lead-times and on-time delivery.
To retain our enviable position as the provider of choice for the supply of high quality prototype and low volume products and services, a supply chain model has been developed to ensure our enviable position is retained. It covers the purchase, transport, storage, distribution and warehousing of all materials and finished goods.
Our model is based on the basic premise that the supply and distribution activities if integrated with the manufacturing / logistic activities, can result in better profitability for the company, lower costs for the products and efficient, timely delivery to you, our customer.
5 apprentices are currently on our apprenticeship programme; it is crucial to the continued growth and long-term development of the company, and we are big advocates for the ‘earn while you learn’ philosophy. A well-run programme improves productivity, improves morale amongst our staff and drastically improves staff retention.
Our belief is that we have a responsibility to contribute to the local community by offering a range of apprenticeships. Following an interview process, each successful apprentice is designated the appropriate skill area, such as CAD, Press, Sheet Metal or perhaps the Tool Room. During the four-year programme, you are supported by assessors from various local training providers, such as The Midland Group Training Services, Henley College, Coventry University, Warwick University and Coventry & Warwickshire Training. If you successfully complete the programme you have the opportunity to progress into further education, again supported and sponsored by us at Premier Group.
We continue to support, through sponsorship, the Coventry Charity Football Cup. The Coventry Charity Football Cup has been in existence for over 100 years, founded in 1907 with a donation of a magnificent trophy given by the Coventry Nursing Trust.
The competition is now the largest sporting charity in the West Midlands and Warwickshire, currently raising money for 16 charities, namely: The Coventry and District Amateur Fund, Bermuda & Stockingford Intensive Care Support, Community Broadcasting Services, Zoe’s Place, RSPCA, Coventry Deaf Sports and Social Club, Sycamore Counselling Services, The Acorns Children’s Hospital, The Island Project School, Coventry Resources Centre for the Blind, Mercia Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, Coventry and District Amateur Footballers Welfare Fund, The Life Past Trust, Mary Ann Evans Hospice, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, The RAFA Club.
Premier Group Chairman, Denis Meagher: “I am very proud of our continued support. The Cup supports a number of very worthy local charities and I am confident that we can improve up on the amount of money that we raise. Please become a ‘friend of the cup’ and help us raise money that is so crucially needed.”
If you are interested in becoming a ‘friend’, please call Richard Aston on: 07738 939303.
